As TheGameRev.com prepares to release we have decided to showcase our new “Booth at Comic Con” Video. An original song created by Ben Perry and Jake Regal, this video is bonus material for our season inspired by the brilliant “Linus” line, which you will understand after our premiere episode. You can’t believe how much fun we had playing with all the fanatics at the convention. If you have never gotten the chance to be a part of it in person you have to see to see this music video. You will feel as though you were there, enjoying the floor with everyone else.

For anyone who doesn’t know, every July San Diego is overtaken with all things movie, comic book, web series, and video game as the entire city is owned by the fantastically obsessed. It is a place for those who create content to meet with those who produce content and then you top it off with the true fans of every type meeting under one roof. Where else could you see a storm trooper talking to the Mad Hatter while they walk along side Wolverine? At Comic Con the playing field is leveled as the autograph seekers can meet and listen to their idols make huge announcements of future projects or share behind the scenes stories of how things get done. It is every kid’s fantasy all in one place, better than Disneyland!

Book early as Comic Con sells out quickly. Also, find people to room with because there isn’t a room to be found in the entire city.

We rushed to completion so we could enter our series in the new NextTV web competition. Just after we entered we were told there would be a “skip to the finals” opportunity where you could collect votes for your series in order to automatically make it to the finals stage of the competition. With that in mind we took off for Comic Con to talk people into watching our show and voting for us. We wandered the line of Hall H and the interior showing our work and passing out cards. It was great to not only see people responding to the web series but also watching our numbers climb rapidly in the contest. Our month’s group of web series collected more votes than any other grouping. While we did not win, we came awfully close and we definitely upped the ante for all the other series as they got to work just to keep up with us.

As the editors are locked away working on our cuts, Ben and Craig have launched their own music production company. Well, maybe not a company but rather started working on music for our web series. What’s a good show without good music? Both have a background in music and are loving the opportunity to revisit their skills. Of course this time they are doing it with comedy in mind which makes it more interesting. Isn’t everything more fun when you don’t take it too seriously?

Much of the music is likely to be a parody of today’s hits with some originals thrown in for good measure. The guys are hoping to have a different theme song for each episode of the show. Quite the undertaking, but if anyone can make it work, they can.

Jeff has taken on the crazy difficult task of putting together all our footage. After the whirlwind 3 day shoot, the fact he is still standing is amazing enough. But unable to rest, he has already started piecing together the webisodes in the hopes we can have them ready to put in competition. Our goal is to get it out there via the festival route and do a hard launch next year on our own site. Believe it or not, it is likely going to take longer to get our website built than to put the episodes together. I guess that’s what we get for being film nerds instead of computer ones. Maybe one of us should take a web design course or something.
